Enable Mobile Gaming LIVE on TikTok
Mobile Gaming lets you broadcast a Sleep LIVE Scene by sharing your device screen. TikTok frequently changes its interface, so button positions or wording may differ slightly.
First, check your account
Open TikTok, tap +, then swipe through the camera options and look for LIVE. TikTok requires LIVE hosts to be at least 18, and regional follower requirements may apply. Mobile Gaming is an additional LIVE mode and may not be enabled even when ordinary camera LIVE is available.
Prepare your phone
Screen sharing may broadcast nearly everything visible on your phone—not only the Sleep LIVE Scene.
- Connect to power and use stable Wi-Fi or 5G. Avoid switching connections during the LIVE.
- Close banking, email, password-manager and private-message apps.
- Clear sensitive notifications, enable Do Not Disturb or Focus, and disable notification previews.
- Close unnecessary apps and ensure TikTok is up to date.
- Decide whether viewers should hear your microphone, device audio, both or neither.
- Use headphones where possible to prevent echo.
An upload speed around 5 Mbps is a sensible baseline, though a stable connection with low packet loss matters more than one speed-test result.
Start the Mobile Gaming LIVE
- Update and open TikTok. On Android, check Google Play; on iPhone or iPad, check the App Store.
- Tap the large + button at the bottom of TikTok.
- Select LIVE. Swipe through the modes beneath the camera until LIVE appears.
- Select Mobile Gaming. It may be labelled Gaming, Game, Screen share, shown with a controller icon, or found under a Change or LIVE-type selector. Do not select an ordinary camera LIVE.
- Add a clear title describing the scene or activity. Avoid misleading titles or promises of rewards or follow-backs in exchange for gifts.
- Select the game or topic if prompted. Choose the correct result or the closest general gaming category.
- Configure the audience. Check age controls, comments and keyword filters; add trusted moderators where possible. Apply an 18+ restriction only when the content genuinely requires it.
- Check sound. Enable device/game audio and enable the microphone only if you plan to speak. Keep external music off unless you have permission.
- Tap Go LIVE. Approve TikTok’s screen-recording and device-audio prompts. Screen sharing may not begin until the operating-system prompt is approved.
Approve the Apple broadcast
- In the Screen Broadcast window, select TikTok.
- Enable the microphone if you want viewers to hear you.
- Tap Start Broadcast and wait for the three-second countdown.
- Leave TikTok without force-closing it, then open the Sleep LIVE Scene.
- Rotate the device if needed and allow 10–15 seconds for the orientation to adjust.
A broadcast indicator may appear around the clock, in the status area, Dynamic Island or Control Centre. Your entire screen may now be visible.
End the LIVE
- Return to TikTok, tap the end control and confirm End LIVE.
- Confirm the broadcast indicator disappears.
If TikTok is unresponsive, open Control Centre, stop the active screen broadcast, then return to TikTok and verify the LIVE ended.
Approve Android screen capture
- Approve the Start recording or casting with TikTok? prompt. The privacy warning is normal for screen sharing.
- Choose Share one app and select the scene when supported. Use Entire screen only if required.
- Enable Share audio, Device audio or Media sounds. Enable the microphone separately if needed.
- For commentary and scene audio, choose Media sounds and microphone where available.
- Tap Start now, leave TikTok without force-stopping it, then open the Sleep LIVE Scene.
- Rotate the device if needed and wait for the layout to adjust. Do not dismiss the persistent sharing notification.
End the LIVE
Return to TikTok, tap the end control and confirm End LIVE. Alternatively, use Stop sharing in TikTok’s persistent notification, then return to TikTok and verify it ended.
Run a short test first
Before an important broadcast, start a two- or three-minute Mobile Gaming LIVE and ask a trusted moderator or friend to check:
- The scene is visible, smooth and correctly oriented.
- Game/device audio and your voice can be heard at suitable levels.
- There is no echo or distortion.
- Private notifications are not appearing.
TikTok may not offer a genuinely private LIVE test, so assume viewers could discover it.
Keep your screen on during a Sleep LIVE
Your phone or tablet must remain awake throughout the broadcast. If it locks or the display turns off, your Sleep LIVE Scene may stop displaying correctly.
Before starting your Sleep LIVE
- Connect your device to a reliable charger.
- Reduce screen brightness to limit heat and screen wear.
- Enable Do Not Disturb to prevent interruptions.
- Close unnecessary background applications.
- Use stable Wi-Fi and keep the device cool and well ventilated.
- Test the scene for at least 10 minutes before leaving it unattended.
Disable Auto-Lock
This is the simplest method for most Apple devices.
- Open Settings.
- Select Display & Brightness.
- Select Auto-Lock.
- Choose Never.
- Connect your iPhone or iPad to a charger.
- Open TikTok and start your Sleep LIVE Scene.
Your display will remain active until you manually lock it. Preventing Auto-Lock increases power use, so keep the device connected to power. Read Apple’s guidance.
If “Never” is unavailable
- Open Settings and select Battery.
- Turn Low Power Mode off.
- Return to Display & Brightness → Auto-Lock.
- Check whether Never is now available.
Company or school device restrictions may also prevent Auto-Lock from being disabled.
Optional: use Guided Access
Guided Access keeps the device in TikTok and can prevent accidental touches.
- Go to Settings → Accessibility → Guided Access and turn it on.
- Open Passcode Settings, then create a passcode or enable Face ID/Touch ID.
- Set Display Auto-Lock to the longest setting or Never, if offered.
- Open TikTok, then triple-click the side or top button (or Home button on older devices).
- Select Guided Access, ensure no time limit is enabled, then select Start.
Triple-click the same button and authenticate to exit. Crash Detection and emergency calling are unavailable during an active Guided Access session. Read Apple’s guidance.
Check for a “Never” option
- Open Settings.
- Select Display.
- Select Screen timeout, Sleep or Auto screen off.
- Choose Never or No timeout, if available.
- Connect the device to a charger.
- Open TikTok and start your Sleep LIVE Scene.
If your device only offers a maximum timeout of 10 or 30 minutes, use the charging method below.
Enable “Stay awake while charging”
- Go to Settings → About phone (or About device).
- Find Build number and tap it seven times.
- Enter your PIN if requested.
- Return to Settings and open System → Developer options.
- Turn on Stay awake or Screen will never sleep while charging.
- Connect the device to a charger.
The normal screen timeout applies again if power is disconnected. Read Android’s Developer Options guidance.

- Samsung
- Settings → About phone → Software information → Build number.
- Google Pixel and Motorola
- Settings → About phone → Build number. Developer options is normally under Settings → System.
- Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO
- Settings → About phone → tap OS version or MIUI version seven times. Then open Additional settings → Developer options.
- OnePlus, OPPO and realme
- Settings → About device → Version → Build number or Version number. Then search Settings for Developer options.
- Huawei and HONOR
- Settings → About phone → Build number. Then open System & updates → Developer options.
If you still cannot find it, search Settings for Build number, Developer options, Stay awake, Screen timeout or Sleep.
Other Android options
Keep-screen-awake application
If Developer Options are unavailable, a reputable app such as Caffeine may temporarily override the timeout. Only install apps from Google Play, check their permissions and disable the feature after your LIVE. Do not grant accessibility, device-administrator or unrelated permissions solely to keep the screen awake.
Advanced: Android Debug Bridge (ADB)
Technically experienced users can connect a device with USB debugging enabled and set an approximately 24.8-day timeout:

adb shell settings put system screen_off_timeout 600000Some manufacturers may reset this value after restarting the device or changing display settings.
Important safety guidance
- Keep brightness as low as practical and use a moving scene.
- Avoid bright, completely static elements for long periods.
- Remove thick cases if the device becomes unusually warm.
- Never place the device under bedding or against a heat source.
- Use a good-quality charger and undamaged cable.
- Stop the LIVE if the device becomes excessively hot.
- Restore the normal Auto-Lock or timeout setting afterwards.
OLED displays may develop temporary image retention or permanent burn-in when the same bright graphics remain visible for extended periods.
Final checklist
- The device is connected to power.
- The screen no longer turns off automatically.
- Brightness is reduced and Do Not Disturb is enabled.
- The scene is moving and TikTok is still broadcasting.
- The device is not overheating.
- The charger and Wi-Fi connection are stable.
